Tea drinking historically has been a ceremony steeped in tradition. There is good reason why it has enjoyed this exalted status for many years. Tea has been touted to have medicinal and health benefits. It enjoys a herb status in many societies. However, over the years, tradition has given way to convenience and this ceremony has remained a memory. However, the benefits of tea drinking have only increased over the years. With modern R&D and technological innovation, the teas of today besides providing an immersive tea drinking experience, also have numerous health benefits. We at Gulshan Tea, come from a background in tea and feel passionately about bringing world class teas to the discerning tea drinker across the globe.

About Us

Tea has always been a passion for Ringo. He grew up in the beautiful blue mountains in Tamil nadu, also known as Nilgiris, the queen of the hill. Ringo developed a passion for tea as a student in Coonoor. It was no surprise that when it was time for him to choose his career, Ringo chose to become a tea planter. He was part of one of the best tea companies in the world at that time. His belief is that being a planter is not a job, but a lifestyle. The experiences of being a planter teaches patience, resilience, mental toughness and an eternal love for nature and its nascent beauty! Over the years his career moved in a totally different direction, however, he never could cut the umbilical cord with planting. He always believed that there was a big unmet demand for boutique tea in North America and he was keen to see how this could be met. A chance meeting with a well-wisher on a cab ride from JFK to Princeton gave him the impetus to take the plunge with some of his colleagues of three decades. Together, they are working to bring the delicate taste and aroma of Nilgiris tea to North America.

Gulshan Tea is teaming up with boutique manufacturing units in the Nilgiris which produce Orthodox, CTC and green teas. The idea is to shorten the timespan from farm to table by sourcing the teas directly from the tea factories and shipping it to your doorstep!
